While at UH, Jim met Sandra Schoenfeld, who was a ZTA and president of her sorority. They married and have 3 children - 2 girls and 1 boy. Julia Erwin is one of his daughters. After many years of practicing law in Houston, Jim and Sandra moved up to Lake Conroe several years ago, where he continued to practice law in a more relaxed setting.
Jim has been fighting cancer of the bile duct for about the last year, which unfortunately took the Dr's a long time to finally discover what his problem really was. As relayed below, Jim passed away Monday night, March 28, 2011. There will be an informal family visitation Friday night at our house (186 Lake View Circle~ April Sound/Lake Conroe). And on Saturday at 11am there will be a Memorial service at Conroe First United Methodist Church (Hwy 105) with a reception following at Mom & Dad's house (187 Lake View Circle).

Last rites were held here Sunday afternoon for Archie White, 78, at one time night manage of the Santanna courts here. He died in Jeff Davis hospital in Houston late Friday about 9:30 p.m. funeral services in Columbus Funeral home were conducted by Rev. Norman L. Roberts, pastor of the First Baptist church. Mr. White, a native Texas, was a member of the Baptist church. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Rest Cemtery.
His only known surviving relative is Charles K. Smith of Houston,who was related to Mr. White's wife, now deceased.

He was a pharmacist and retired from Walgreen Pharmacy in 1996. He was an avid golfer and veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife Jane Morris Burr, Humble; sons Norman Burr, Humble; and Jonathan Burr and wife LiYan, Denton; daughter Colleen Burr, Kingwood; gransons Joseph and James Nieschwietz, Pine, Colo.; and several cousins.
